Beyond Frustrated



I keep gaining and losing weight! On Monday, I was down an extra 2 pounds and now I'm back up 3!! WTF!?!?! I'm going insane and I'm taking my boyfriend with me!
I'm counting every calorie, working out like a mad woman...ARGH!
I haven't done the Shred in awhile, maybe that's the issue. I haven't done much weigh training at all, really, in the past month. Instead. I've just been a cardio-fiend. This is primarily because cardio burns more calories for me in the short term and that helps me meet my daily calorie burned v. eaten goal. But its doing CRAP in terms of weight loss. Annoying. Seriously annoying.

Tomorrow, I lift weights.

Hey there- I discovered your blog a couple of weeks ago and wanted to let you know I am really enjoying reading along. I am having the exact same issue right now. I started the Shred on Nov 2 and have done it faithfully every day like a crazy woman. I was down 6 1/2 pounds last Saturday, was up 3 yesterday, and still up 2 today. ARG. I am following the weight watchers points system as well and am super annoyed.

So I hate to say this, but I'm glad someone else is having the same issue! I doubt I was in as good of shape as you are at the outset. I was a college gymnast, got hurt, and then turned to a life of just yoga/pilates with only short periods of more dedicated normal cardio/strength training. (That was ten years ago...) But I'm sure our scales will come into compliance soon, right? Right? RIGHT?

Thanks for reading, Julia! I always wonder who's out there...
I'm always glad to know I'm not alone. Right now I just feel like a CRAZY person! My next step is to cut out ALL alcohol entirely, since I think my weekends are what mess me up. But I LOVE wine.
Maybe its just my scale. Yes, that's it. Blame. Defer. Rinse. Repeat. :-)
Hang in there! We'll get there eventually. The slower it comes off, the longer it STAYS off (that's what I tell myself for consolation)...

I'm just ultra-annoyed because I have been slightly under WW points for a week straight as well (allotted 20 based on my height/weight and hitting 18 points or so daily). I have cut out most alcohol, sticking to Mich Ultra and not enough of that to worry about. Don't give up the wine! Um, anti-oxidants? Heart something or other? Sanity preservation?

However, I did just notice I can see the beginning of an oblique outline, so that's good. Progress. All progress. Plus if you would have told me I could do Level 2 of Jillian's routine without dying 3 weeks ago I would have burst an artery from laughing so hard. Maybe I'll throw the scale out the window. It's just rude. And I don't need rude people (or inanimate objects) in my life!

I haven't done the shred in a few weeks either. I think I'm going to do it tomorrow morning. I've been a cardio fiend recently too - I think it's time to switch it up :)

Julia here again: I beat the scale into compliance and I hit a new low this morning (down the 3 rebound plus another)! Which is hysterical given the 7 beers I drank last night. (Whoops?) I hope yours is playing along as well.

Yay Julia! That's GREAT! This morning two of my 3 mystery pounds disappeared as well! but I still have one extra that's hanging around. GRR! I plan to kick his ass this weekend :-)
