A Shout out to Myself!!

Margarita Tartakovsky over at Weightless recently interviewed me about my eating disorder recovery for her blog (which I linked to last month) and now its posted!

It was my first official "blog interview" so it was exciting and also kind of scary to post my deep, dark secrets for the interwebz to read. But if it can help just ONE other person from succumbing to the evil vortex of an eating disorder, then it's worth it.

So go check me out, yo!

Dang, Becky. Good for you for sharing your experiences.

I agree that if ED awareness can help even one struggling person, it's worth it to get it out there. An eating disorder doesn't have to debilitate a person forever, but when you're in the throes, it can feel so much like there are no other options. Learning your way through it and recognizing the triggers is tremendously helpful, and it's like the most glorious spring day when you come out on the other side.

Big hugs to you. I hope other people are inspired by your strength.

(I'm not even trying to be all cornball, I swear. ED recovery is just such an emotional subject. Hugs again!)

I'm looking forward to reading Part II tomorrow.

Your story is very powerful. *Big hugs*

Way to go, Ooter!

Seriously, talking about these types of things on the internet are really difficult. And you did it so eloquently and bravely. You should be proud.

Hi Becky, I read your story on the Weighless blog and wanted to say well done! I am also in touch with Margarita which is how I found your Q&A and your blog. I run an online eating disorders mentoring support community called MentorCONNECT and we'd love to donate a couple of copies of our eating disorders mentoring book, Beating Ana: How to Outsmart Your Eating Disorder and Take Your Life Back, to your blog for reader giveaways. Just let me know if you would like to do a giveaway - and even if not, congratulations on your recovery TRIUMPH!! xo

Just wanted to say "hi!" I just found your blog. You are beautiful & have such an inspiring story.

You are right, it is really important to not feel like you are going through things alone.

I look forward to continuing to read : )
